Arcana 14 is Temperance in every tarot numbering, the winged figure pouring water from one cup into another. Two routes bring it to a birthday often: the Greer 14/5 pair, which about one date in nine receives, and the Destiny Matrix day slot, which belongs to anyone born on the 14th. Among dates from 1930 to 2015, a digit-sum arcana 14 occurs only from 2000 on. In the middle of a Matrix chart, the center position, Temperance appears for about 0.4% of dates, roughly one in 240, and only when the first three positions of the chart total exactly 7 or exactly 52, never anything in between. Either way the Matrix sum underneath it comes out at 7, The Chariot.

Only the 14th gives arcana 14 in the day slot, about 3.3% of dates. The month slot never shows it, and from 1930 to 2015 the year slot reads 14 only for births in 1931 and 1940. For the digit sum, all eight digits of the date must add up to 14 on the nose, as with 2 June 2004 (2 + 0 + 0 + 4 + 0 + 6 + 0 + 2). Nobody born from 1930 to 1999 can reach that: the year digits alone total at least 13 in that stretch, and the month and the day add at least 1 each. So all 463 digit-sum arcana 14 dates counted here fall from 2000 to 2015, where they make up about 7.9% of dates. Greer ignores the century change, and about 11% of dates on either side of 2000 land on 14/5. 9 January 1930 gets there through a two-digit total (1 + 9 + 19 + 30 = 59, and 5 + 9 = 14), and 2 May 1987 through a three-digit one (5 + 2 + 19 + 87 = 113, and 11 + 3 = 14). The Matrix sum is 14 for about 1.3% of dates, 0.8% before 2000 and 3.1% from 2000 to 2015. The center is where arcana 14 becomes unusual. Only 129 of the 31,411 dates have it, and 104 of those come from the top of the range, position totals of 52 that in this population only births from 1935 to 1993 reach.
